through haze
come those godawful pop tones
let it be my motorcycle death song.
glory be
my motorcycle death tone
glory be
my motorcycle death song
from each last stump
let smoke-ghosts seep
creep phantom feet
through rockland grease
kiss me from the sleepless deep
punch out the code
beep beep beep
beep beep beep
my motorcycle death song
glory be
my motorcycle death song
leader of packs
oozing through pitch
cleave to me
my trophy bitch
ride this last boner, for
a flick of the switch
clear.
...twitch.
"look out. look out. look out!"
we're flat-out, post-trauma
"look out. look out. look out"
girls chorus through coma
beyond
flat-lines and white lines
to the bridge
to the coda.
"look out. look out. look out"
the motor city deadhouse.

Where to begin. Where did this mammoth undertaking start?
I guess Mangabros had been flirting with the idea of getting a female singer, so Craig Manga thought it only fair to wrap his tonsils around one mother of a catchy tune, an up-tempo stormer of a number, one last time, or rather one for the road.
'Motorcycledeathsong' was based on the old tradition of motorcycle death songs such as Leader of the Pack and Bat Out of Hell, so it seemed perfect to simply call it just that. The hook line of "GLORY BE..." is a deliberate attempt at an earworm, to get folk humming. Elements of big beat, gnarled gospel and acid house, all knotted up like the knuckles of the preacher in Night of the Hunter. L-O-V-E and H-A-T-E. It is a brash tale of Lazarus-like preacher, Reverend Zach astride his steely steed. He dies and is resurrected to perform miracles on his followers in several song sequels and prequels ('Rev Lazarus and the Bible of Highways').
Craig M thought it a nice idea to hook up with some friends - old and new - to draw out remixes, reinterpretations and sonic exploration. WEATNU was the perfect vehicle for interaction and collaboration. It is a diverse body of work, pushing many of the artists included out of their comfort zones into uncharted (and uncharting) territory. This is the long night of the detour. It is unflinching, raw, and will burrow its way into your soul. So beware.
We have black ambience, electro-stomps, deep house, nightmare dreampop, orchestral, dubstep, industrial, krautrock, medieval spookfolk, acid techno, all this and more. It roars and revs and pulses like the beast at its centre. GLORY BE!!!
